I never made new years resolutions before because I always broke them in like two days... so yeah...
BUT! This year is going to be different.
I came up with all these new years resolutions and then realized I really can't do them ALLLL at the same time so new plan is: 30 days to better yourself. This means that every month I will do something new for 30 days. For example, I'll be doing whole30 for the month of January, which is basically only whole foods, no soy/dairy/sugar-additives/gluten/grains, etc. for 30 days.
Mara and I are going to be doing this together because, let's be real, I need support. I also have all of you to hold me accountable, as well, so make sure you check back to see if I've failed or not.
Don't be too excited to see me fail...cuz I won't this time, lol. As you can see, down below in my Day 1 - Grocery Haul Video, I've set myself up for success!
There's a few things in the grocery haul video that I wanted to try and give ya'll a review on.
Bolthouse Farms 1915 Organic Juice Blends - I haven't tried them all but the carrot, apple, lemon one is pretty good and the mango, coconut, peach, orange, apple, banana one is SOO good! They are pricy (about $4/12oz. bottle) and out of stock everywhere online but I got them at Kroger for buy one get one free.
Tessemae's Organic Ketchup - LOVED! It is pricy as well and it's cheaper at Whole Foods than online but you can get it on amazon. The 4 pack is much cheaper per piece if you buy on amazon and they don't expire too quick either.
Justin's Classic Almond Butter - not my favorite but I suppose it'll be a decent substitute to peanut butter. It's much chunkier/thicker than most nut butters but maybe if you heat it up and pour it over a bowl of sliced apples or smoothie bowl it would be good. You're probably better off buying this in store, I've seen it at just about every grocery store I've been to.
Lara Bars - I just tried the Cinnamon Roll one and let's just saaaayyyy I didn't finish it and I don't think I'll be buying them again, lol. These have a generous amount of sugar/carbs so I'd rather just have a fruit or something...anything...that doesn't taste like that, lol.
New Barn Unsweetened Almond Milk - Again, let's just say I didn't finish my coffee this morning... and I love coffee...
There's a few reasons I chose to do whole30:
My eating habits have gotten out of control. I eat anything and everything I want and it's not healthy.
My bones and joints hurt. I've read that your diet can affect this.
I never had acne before and I've been breaking out nonstop for about two months.
I feel so sluggish all the time! I need my body to not depend on sugar/caffeine for energy.
I'm prone to diabetes from both sides of my family so I don't want to continue down this path.
Bonus: weight loss...we'll see if I even lose any weight, lol.

I also want to work on a lot of different things about myself but they're not really things I'll be as accounted for, it's just ways to better myself as a human. Here's my list of New Years Resolutions:
30 Days to better yourself - January is Whole30
Complain less/appreciate more
Shop less/donate more
Stretch more regularly
Vocalize gratitude
Show more grace to those around me
Talk less/do more
Pray more
See the good and not the bad in things.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Baked Drumsticks - I'll do a weekly post on my favorite foods!

So this is the end of Day 1 for Whole30 and I feel great so far. I feel really motivated...so we'll see how long that lasts, lol. I'll make sure to do a weekly check-in to keep me accountable and to let you know what foods are helping me stay on track! If you've done whole30 before let me know what has helped you the most and what tips and tricks you have for me. I'd also love to hear what your new years resolutions are so comment down below! Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a blessed day darlings!
Love, B
