Guuuuyyyyyyssss *heart-eye emoji*
I LOVE this cake
It's not a perfectttt galaxy cake but I love it anyway!
I really had a fun time making this and it wasn't as hard as I thought and turned out better than I thought it would.
& perfect for you, I recorded the whole thing so make sure to watch the video for this gorgeous galaxy cake.
ALSO, according to Mars, this is the best cake I've made. It's a plain vanilla cake but the cake part was soooo goooddd. I probably would've liked it better with something other than American buttercream but really, I was just in it for the galaxy part *grinning emoji*.
ALSO, ALSO I don't have many pictures of it because I didn't cut it myself so unless you want me to post like ten of the same picture, the one will have to do :)

VANILLA GALAXY CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
White Cake
3 ¼ cup flour
2 cups milk
¾ cup oil
½ cup butter
2 ½ cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. salt
Frosting
2 cups unsalted butter, softened
2 lbs. icing sugar, sifted
2 tbsp. vanilla
3-4 tbsp. cream/milk
Decorations
Half of frosting recipe
2-3 tbsp. cocoa powder (I used black cocoa powder)
Pinke, blue, black & white GEL food coloring
Small paint brush
1 cup white chocolate, melted
3 macarons *
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350F & grease four 6" pans.**
Whisk together flour, baking powder & salt in medium bowl and set aside.
On medium speed, beat together eggs & sugar.
Once combined, add in oil, butter, & vanilla.
Alternate adding in milk & dry ingredients while beating on low-medium speed. Beat until just combined.
Fill pan about half way & bake for about 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt your vanilla (20 second intervals in microwave) and spread a thin layer onto parchment paper.
Let it cool in refrigerator, until hard, and then break into smaller pieces.
With paddle attachment, on medium-high speed, beat butter for frosting until it is pale & fluffy.
Lower speed to low & slowly add in icing sugar.
Beat until fully combined, adding in as much milk/cream until consistency is spreadable.
Add in vanilla to taste & separate frosting in half.
Once cake has fully cooled, use half of the frosting for between cake layers & a crumb coat.***
For the other half of the frosting, separate into thirds.
Leave 1/3 white & set aside for emergency purposes (in case you color something too dark).
Use 1/3 to color different shades of pinks & blues (purple if you want).
Separate the last 1/3 in half & use half to make black with cocoa powder & black gel & make navy with blue & black gel.****
Use different colors intermittently on the cake & use a cake spreader to spread it out evenly.
Add you black last in places you desire. Remember, less is more.
When your frosting is complete, take a small paint brush, dip it into your white gel coloring & spray it onto your cake.
Top with white chocolate shards & macarons, using any left over frosting to secure them in place.*****
ENJOY
LOVE NOTES
*for macaron recipes, see blog archives, for these, I just added pink & a tiny bit of black gel food coloring
**I only have two pans so you can do two at a time.
***Once they cooled a little, I wrap my cakes in plastic and refrigerate them or freeze them if I'm short on time.
****Make sure to watch the video if these steps are a little confusing.
*****I painted the edges of my shards black & sprayed some black drops on some of them.
Store in refrigerator with a sheet of plastic wrap pressed up against any cut slices.

Those directions seem a little confusing, lol so make sure to watch the video. Please let me know what you think of this cake & the video & if any of you make this I HAVE TO SEE IT! Please comment down below if you have any questions or comments or requests for future videos/recipes, etc.
As always,
Love, B
